From “listening” to “listening”, “listening” appears as an advanced “listening” in some of Mencius’s expressions, which is related to politics, gifts and behaviors. This not only highlights the influence of “hearing”, but also ultimately implements “knowing by hearing”. This prompts individuals to become saints in the process of “listening”. The above commentary and multiple connotations of “listening”, such as ethics, political philosophy and practical philosophy, show the rich philosophical meaning of “listening” in Mencius’ philosophy.

 

 

Mencius valued the meaning and value of “hearing”. The statement about “hearing” in “Mencius” is about personal self-cultivation and political management. You can understand both the “hearing” in the meaning of cognition, and the “hearing” and “hearing” in political practice. From the perspective of personal self-cultivation, “hearing” exerts the main effect in the process of forming a fantasy personality. From the perspective of political management, “hearing” helps political decision makers slowly move towards the “saint king”.
